Description
Siberian Huskies are compact, strong, medium-sized working dogs. They are quick and light on their feet and graceful in action.


Size
Adult male Siberian Huskies are 21-24 inches tall and weigh 45-60 pounds. An adult female Siberian Husky is 20-22 inches tall and weigh 35-50 pounds.


Coat
They have a double coat that is medium in length. The undercoat is soft and dense and of sufficient length. The outer coat is straight and somewhat smooth lying.


Color
The standard colors of the Siberian Husky include; agouti & white, black & white, gray & white, red & white, sable & white, and white.


Temperament
The Siberian Husky is outgoing, alert, confident, independent. They are also gentle, playful, but willful and some mischievous.


Care
The coat does not need much care except twice a year during heavy shedding. They should be combed thoroughly with a metal comb.


Exercise
The Siberian Husky needs daily exercise in the form of walks and play. Do not over exercise them in the heat as their coat is very warm.


Training
A highly intelligent breed, training can be accomplished with patience, consistency and an understanding of the Arctic dog character. Siberian Huskies may be difficult to housebreak.


Shedding
This breed sheds heavily twice a year.


Barking & Howling
This breed likes to howl.


Life Expectancy
A well cared for Siberian Husky can live 12-15 years.


Health
Generally a health breed, the Siberian Husky can be prone to hip dysplasia, eye problems, and zinc responsive dermatitis.
